Credit Controller required for a leading Engineering Recruitment Company based in the town centre Watford, Hertfordshire in modern offices. Offering a salary of £16,000 to £19,000 p.a.
An opening is available for an experienced Credit Controller to join a team of 2 in the Credit Control Department. The ideal candidate will have prior Credit Control experience which has involved liaising over the phone with external clients on outstanding debt/payment plans and be comfortable discussing any issues that arise through running credit checks. The ideal Credit Controller will be process driven, enjoy working to team targets and have an adaptive personality.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Processing credit applications with the assistance from Credit Insurance
• Reporting any problems to Management and liaising with the sales department.
• The set up of new clients within the Sales Ledger accurately, including calling clients to get the correct information.
• Maintenance of the Sales Ledger including crediting, re-invoicing, dealing with under and over payments efficiently.
• Reconciliation of various spreadsheets accurately and investigating variances.
• Daily banking on behalf of Company to put payments in and occasional withdrawals.
• Administration of purchase orders from clients to ensure payment of debts, this includes chasing them when they are missing.
• Filing of various administrations accurately, so it can be found quickly if audited.
• Various month end tasks, including statements, bank reports, and weekly management reports are completed accurately and supply all the information required.
• Reporting any problems incurred whist doing day to day tasks to Manager and helping to resolve them.
Skills Required:
• Must hold previous credit control experience and be competent with the procedures involved
• Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build customer relationships to ease the collection of outstanding debts, using tact and assertiveness at all times
• Work to achieve team and company based objectives/targets
• Adherence to Quality Management System and Health & Safety
• Previous exposure to Tempest would be a preference but not a necessity
The hours of work for this role will be on a week to week rota of 8:30am to 5pm OR 9:00am to 5:30pm Monday to Thursday and regardless of start time always finish at 4:30pm on Fridays!
