Sterile Services Supervisor



CSSD Supervisor – Radlett - £18,500



My client is part of an international privately owned company with subsidiaries in Europe and Asia and is a market leader in the reprocessing of medical devices. The UK Company offers customised solutions to hospitals for the modernisation of their Central Sterile Supply Department. This involves supplying decontamination / sterile services to a number of private hospitals in the region. They are now looking to recruit a Supervisor for their Sterile Services Unit.



In the role of supervisor you will:



* Provide a first class decontamination sterile service to the operating department, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments.

* Promote and maintain Health & Safety within the unit.

* Manage, motivate, train and engage the Unit’s workforce

* Supervise Unit hygiene, maintenance and cleanliness

* Work in line with approved and required stock levels and budget

* Monitor all production records, quality control checks and the documentation of results.

* Be the prime contact for customers and deal with routine telephone enquiries and problem solving.

* Maintain the highest levels of Health & Safety for the protection of staff, patients and visitors.

* Work as an active member of the SSD team ensuring agreed standards are maintained.

* Assist Team Leaders in the induction and training of all unit employees.

* Produce staff duty rota to cover the needs of the Unit

* Ensure that all activities are in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.



Success in this role depends on a flexible approach with excellent people management skills. This means that you are a participative leader who motivates and engages employees at al levels. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in supervising and training team members and will run the unit in conjunction with the unit manager. You will have worked in either TSSU, SSD or similar and preferably hold an NVQ 3 in decontamination or have a minimum of 4 years experience.
